I was a Textiles teacher for 23 years and have been running the business for 6 years. In that time I have produced thousands of personalised embroidered and printed gifts. Shrewsbury is a great day out and an even better place for a short break. We have the famous Quarry and Dingle, the Castle, the Abbey and the town itself surrounded by the river and with so many interesting buildings - you could spend a week here and not be lost for things to do.
Wyle cop itself is steeped in history. Charles Dickens stayed at The Lion and wrote Pickwick Papers there. Charles Darwin caught the stagecoach to get him to The Beagle from outside The Lion and Wilfred Owen went to school on the Cop. Some of the buildings are ancient and the buidings have remained basically the same for about 200 years. The stuff in the shops is completely up-to-date though!
Within easy travelling distance we have the Ironbridge Gorge, Ellesmere Lakes, The Long Mynd hills, Ludlow, Bridgnorth are all a few miles away and the North Wales mountains and coast are within a few hours travel. This makes Shrewsbury an ideal place to stay.
